Terms of service

Plain terms for a simulation tool. The most important section is the one about what TasteLab's output means — please read it before making a decision on the basis of a run.

The service

TasteLab is a personalization sandbox. It lets you import a content catalog and optional behavioural events, define synthetic audience segments, run deterministic recommendation simulations and compare the results.

It is a modelling and analysis tool. It is not a production recommendation system, and it is not intended to serve recommendations to real users.

What the output represents

These results come from a simulation, not from real people. They show how a strategy behaves on this catalog, which is useful for comparing options — but they are not a prediction of what your actual users will do. Try anything promising with real users before you rely on it.

Every number TasteLab shows you — how well things matched, how varied they were, how much of your catalog got seen, and the rest — is calculated from what you gave it and from the simulation model. None of it is a measurement of how a live system performed.

The audience segments are made up. They do not represent real customers, market research participants or any identifiable person.

No output from TasteLab is a guarantee of engagement, retention, conversion or revenue outcomes, and none of it should be presented as one.

AI-generated narrative sections are qualitative interpretation of calculated values. They may be wrong. Treat them as a colleague’s opinion, not as a finding.

Your responsibilities

You must have the right to upload and process any catalog or behavioural data you import.

You must pseudonymise user identifiers before importing behavioural events.

You are responsible for decisions you make on the basis of TasteLab output, and for validating them through real experiments before shipping.

You must not use TasteLab to profile identifiable individuals or to infer protected characteristics.

Acceptable use

Do not upload malicious files, attempt to circumvent import limits, or use the service to attack the infrastructure it runs on.

Do not present TasteLab output as measured production results, as validated research, or as an official product of any third party.

Do not use TasteLab to generate content that impersonates a real organisation or individual.

Independence

TasteLab is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any music, media or streaming company, and does not use any third party’s branding, catalog or APIs.

All catalog content shipped with the product is fictional sample data created for TasteLab.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. It may change, and features may be added or removed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service or reliance on its output.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
